Description
The MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI is a feature-packed AM5 ATX motherboard built on the AMD X870E chipset — supporting all AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series desktop processors. Four DDR5 slots support memory up to 8200+ MT/s (OC) with MSI Memory Boost technology. The PCIe 5.0 x16 slot delivers up to 128 GB/s bandwidth for the latest graphics cards, while three M.2 connectors (1× PCIe Gen5 x4, 2× PCIe Gen4 x4) are all shielded with M.2 Shield Frozr thermal covers. Connectivity highlights include a USB 4.0 port at 40Gbps, Wi-Fi 7 (up to 5.8Gbps via 320MHz channel), 5G LAN, and 4× SATA 6Gb/s. The EZ PCIe Clip II allows tool-free GPU removal. Frozr AI Cooling intelligently adjusts fan speeds based on CPU and GPU temperatures for balanced acoustics and thermals.

**Great specs for the money, ATX layout is spacious and practical**
The MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI delivers a lot for a mid-range price: triple M.2 (one Gen5!), USB 4, Wi-Fi 7, and a clean ATX layout with plenty of headers. VRM performance is solid for Ryzen 9000 — I’ve been running a Ryzen 9 9900X at auto settings without any thermal issues on the board. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it had a few more USB-A ports on the rear I/O — you get coverage but not excess. Otherwise an excellent value-oriented X870E board that punches above its price.

**Outstanding AM5 motherboard for the price — X870E chipset is the right choice**
The reason to choose X870E over plain X870 is mandatory PCIe 5.0 on both the GPU slot and at least one M.2 — and this board delivers exactly that. Combined with USB4 40Gbps and Wi-Fi 7, you’re getting next-gen connectivity standards across the board. Memory support up to 8200+ MT/s OC keeps pace with the fastest DDR5 kits available. MSI PRO series builds are consistently high quality — good VRM heatsinks, solid capacitors, and a clean BIOS. An excellent foundation for a Ryzen 9000 series build.

**Feature-rich X870E at a compelling price — minor BIOS quirks**
This board packs impressive specs for the price: USB 4.0 (40Gbps), Wi-Fi 7, 5G LAN, and triple M.2 with Gen5 speeds. Real-world performance with my Ryzen 7 9700X is flawless. My only notes: the initial BIOS required a quick update before enabling all DDR5 XMP profiles properly, and the 4 SATA ports are fewer than some competing boards. Neither issue is a dealbreaker. The Frozr AI Cooling fan control is genuinely useful — the system adjusts fan curves automatically based on thermal load, keeping things quiet during light workloads. Would buy again.

**Solid Pro-series board with enthusiast-grade connectivity**
The MSI PRO line hits the sweet spot between professional reliability and gaming-grade features. The X870E-P WIFI does exactly what you want: rock-solid AM5 platform, excellent VRM for Ryzen 9000 overclocking, comprehensive M.2 coverage with Gen5 support, and the EZ PCIe Clip II makes GPU swaps painless. BIOS is clean and straightforward — memory XMP/EXPO profiles loaded without issues on my Ryzen 9 9950X. The M.2 Shield Frozr on all three slots is a nice touch for thermal management. Great board for the price.

**Best value X870E board on the market — Wi-Fi 7 and USB 4.0 at this price is unbeatable**
I’ve been building AMD systems for years and the MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI is one of the strongest value propositions I’ve seen. X870E chipset gives you mandatory PCIe 5.0 for the GPU slot and USB 4.0 at 40Gbps built in — features that cost significantly more on Z890/competing platforms. The triple M.2 with the Gen5 slot is excellent for the latest high-speed NVMe drives. Wi-Fi 7 delivers blazing wireless speeds and the 5G LAN is perfect for wired performance. DDR5 at 8200+ MT/s OC leaves plenty of headroom. Highly recommended for Ryzen 9000 builds.
