EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING — 12GB GDDR6, Dual-Fan, Metal Backplate

$299.95

Description

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING packs 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus, giving you more VRAM than most GPUs in its class — ideal for 1080p and smooth 1440p gaming. The XC (Extreme Clock) edition boosts to 1882 MHz, outpacing reference designs without excessive noise thanks to the dual-fan HDB cooler. NVIDIA Ampere architecture delivers 2nd-gen RT Cores, 3rd-gen Tensor Cores for DLSS, and PCIe 4.0 support. The all-metal backplate adds rigidity and a premium look. Outputs: 3× DisplayPort 1.4a + 1× HDMI 2.1, supporting up to 4 simultaneous displays at up to 8K resolution. 170W TDP, requires one 8-pin PCIe connector, 550W PSU recommended.

**Good card but aging architecture limits upside**

The RTX 3060 XC is a solid performer at 1080p and the EVGA build quality is undeniably good — quiet, cool, well made. My only hesitation is the Ampere architecture is now a few generations old: no Frame Generation, older NVENC encoder than 4000-series, and slightly lower efficiency. At the right price it’s absolutely worth it for a budget or entry-level build. If you can stretch to an RTX 4060 you get better efficiency and DLSS 3, but the 3060’s 12GB vs 4060’s 8GB VRAM often makes the older card preferable for VRAM-heavy workloads. Worth buying at this price.

**EVGA reliability + RTX 3060 performance = excellent budget GPU**

EVGA was always my go-to for GPUs before they left the market, and this XC model reminds me why. The dual-fan cooler keeps thermals low without being loud, the all-metal backplate prevents GPU sag, and the card just works out of the box without driver drama. Gaming performance at 1080p is excellent across the board. The 12GB VRAM is a stand-out spec that competes well against newer cards. Three DisplayPort 1.4a outputs plus HDMI 2.1 means great multi-monitor flexibility too.

**Great card, but know what generation you’re buying**

The EVGA RTX 3060 XC is a genuine 1080p king — the 12GB GDDR6 frame buffer is larger than many RTX 4060 variants, which matters for modding and future texture quality. Ray tracing is playable with DLSS at 1080p, though demanding RT scenes will still push the card. Build quality is excellent: solid metal shroud, dual HDB fans, clean PCB. Just be aware this is Ampere (3rd gen) architecture — you won’t get DLSS 3 Frame Generation (that’s 4000-series only), but DLSS 2 Super Resolution works great. Solid value.

**Solid 1440p entry card, runs cool and quiet**

Built a mid-range system for my son around this card. At 1440p medium-high settings it performs beautifully — hits 60+ fps in modern titles easily, and with DLSS enabled you can push much higher framerates. The XC boost clock at 1882MHz gives it a nice edge over stock RTX 3060s. Temperatures stay in the low 70s under full load, and fan noise is barely noticeable. PCIe 4.0 interface is future-proof for our AM5 platform. Very happy with this purchase.

**Best 1080p GPU for the price — 12GB VRAM is a genuine advantage**

Picked this up as a budget build upgrade and was blown away. The RTX 3060 XC handles everything I throw at it at 1080p max settings — Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS Quality runs silky smooth, and the 12GB VRAM means I never hit memory limits even in heavy modded games like Skyrim with 4K texture packs. The dual-fan cooler is quiet under load, and the all-metal backplate makes the card feel premium. EVGA build quality was always top notch and this proves it.
