**Powerhouse machine, but the cooling box is a commitment**
The performance is undeniably top-tier and the 300Hz WQXGA display is wonderful. However, I want to be honest about daily use: the liquid cooling box adds significant bulk to your carry bag. Without it the laptop runs noticeably hotter and louder as fans ramp up to compensate. If you primarily game at a desk, no issues. If you travel frequently with this, the cooling box becomes an annoying extra item. Also note that the laptop weighs 2.45kg before adding the box and its cable. For my use case (mostly desk gaming) it’s excellent, just know what you’re buying.

**Dream Machines delivers on the hype**
This Polish brand has been flying under the radar in the US market but the RT5090 proves they know what they’re doing. The build quality is solid — chassis feels dense and well-constructed, hinge mechanism is firm. The full-size numpad keyboard is a nice touch that most competitors skip. Performance with the cooling box reaches benchmarks I’d previously only seen on desktop builds. The included 420W adapter is beefy but necessary. For the serious gamer or creator who wants the absolute best mobile GPU available, this is it.

**Incredible performance, a few caveats worth noting**
Performance-wise this machine is unmatched in a laptop form factor — RTX 5090 at 175W is legitimately desktop-tier gaming. The 300Hz display is gorgeous for competitive games. My notes: the 16GB base RAM feels a bit stingy at this price (I upgraded to 32GB immediately), and the Windows 11 Home Trial requires a separate license purchase. The 80Wh battery lasts about 1.5 hours under gaming load, so you’re always near an outlet. None of these are dealbreakers, just things to plan for. Overall a 9/10 machine.

**Best 300Hz WQXGA gaming laptop I’ve owned**
Coming from an older 1080p 144Hz setup, the jump to 2560×1600 at 300Hz on a 100% sRGB IPS panel is stunning. Colors are accurate and vibrant, motion blur is non-existent. The Ryzen 9 9955HX handles everything — streaming, recording, gaming simultaneously with no hiccups. The RGB front light bar and per-key RGB keyboard look incredible in a dark room. The liquid cooling box is a bit bulky to carry everywhere but when I’m at my desk it’s always plugged in. Highly recommended.

**Desktop-class RTX 5090 in a laptop — the liquid cooling box is the secret sauce**
I was skeptical about the external cooling box gimmick, but it’s genuinely transformative. Without it, the RTX 5090 throttles down to around 130W under sustained load. With the cooling box attached, it holds 175W consistently for hours. The thermal delta is enormous — CPU package temps drop ~15°C and the GPU sits 20°C cooler during extended gaming sessions. At 1440p on this 300Hz panel, games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2 at max raytracing settings run butter-smooth. Dream Machines has been doing this right for years. Worth every penny.
